Advising and Orientation
At the beginning of your academic journey, you will receive a degree plan from your advisor indicating the courses needed to earn your MBA. Continuing students wishing to make changes to their degree plans should contact their advisor or email [email protected] before making any schedule adjustments. New students are required to complete the Online Student Orientation prior to any advising. An advising hold will be placed on your account until you complete this orientation. See below for more information.
Online Student Orientation introduces you to a wealth of resources available to assist you in your MBA program. In order to be advised for your first term at UL Lafayette, you must first log in to Moodle and complete the online orientation. To access the online orientation, follow these steps:
- Access the online orientation Moodle course here
- If you are not already logged into Moodle, the University access page will come up. Log in with your ULID and password.
- Complete the Moodle course entitled “Orientation – Online Programs”
- Upon completion of orientation you will be emailed a certificate. Your advisor will require a copy of this Certificate of Completion before advising you and lifting your advising hold for registration.
RN to BSN
At the beginning of your academic journey, you will receive a degree plan from your advisor indicating the courses needed to earn your BSN. Continuing students wishing to make changes to their degree plans should contact their advisor or email [email protected] before making any schedule adjustments.
RN to BSN Orientation
Online learning is different, and understanding those differences and how to navigate them is what our RN to BSN orientation process is all about. We set you up for success on day one by introducing you to the tools you’ll need throughout the program. You’ll learn how to use and integrate them as well as helpful tips to help you stay focused and motivated.
During your first term, you will be enrolled in and must complete NURS 353 “Orientation for RN to BSN.” This online orientation course is customized for nurses with activities to increase your knowledge of how to be a successful student in an online program. At the completion of NURS 353, you will receive one hour of college credit toward your degree.
As an online student, you’ll be as much a part of the Ragin’ Cajun experience as our traditional students, and you’ll have the same access to all of our learning resources. That includes full access to all the materials housed in the Edith Garland Dupre Library.
With a catalog that boasts one million bound volumes and millions more in electronic and digital formats, our library is an invaluable resource for UL Lafayette online students. You’ll enjoy remote access to electronic databases that allow you to search library catalogs and access newspapers, journals, e-books, special collections and instructional guides. You can even access many library materials with your smartphone or tablet.
Friendly and helpful librarians are available to assist you by phone at 337-482-6030 or through the Ask a Librarian service. A special resource for online learners, Library Services for Distance Learners, is also maintained and updated with information on interlibrary loan and use of online databases for locating subject-specific information.
