SAR Review. Every financial aid applicant will need to review the Student Aid Report (SAR) for accuracy. The FAFSA that you submitted is processed by the Central Processing System (CPS) and generates a SAR. If you do not receive an email regarding your SAR within three weeks of submitting your FAFSA, contact the CPS at 800-433-3243 to check on the status of your application.

Verification. Some applicants will be selected for a verification process. If you are requesting federal financial aid, which includes grants and loans, you could be required to provide additional information or documentation to our office. Please check ULink for required documents and respond quickly to any requests for additional information.

Step 3 – Awards

Once your financial aid requirements are satisfied, we will continue processing your financial aid awards. Award notifications are emailed to your University email account. You can review the awards on ULink.

Step 4 – Disbursement

To be eligible for Federal Loans, you must be at least half-time each semester. Fall and Spring semesters include both A and B Terms. If you are attending Term A, you must register for your Term B courses by the 5th class day of the semester (Fall/Spring).

To reserve your class schedule, you will have to sign/click the consent form each semester on ULink. Please check your University email often for any other instructions on how to reserve your classes.

Your funds will be available for disbursement provided that you qualify and complete all requirements. Here are some typical examples of things that prevent your aid from being disbursed:

  • You’ve not completed Direct Loan entrance counseling
  • You’ve not signed and submitted a master promissory note (MPN) for your Direct loan and/or PLUS loan
  • You’ve not registered for the minimum required hours (you must be enrolled at least half time (a minimum of six hours between Terms A and B).
